"You will always be my greatest adventure" - Up
sIt's widely known now that the menswear company Greenwoods has gone into administration. While the store is still trading it no longer offers suit hire for men. This will be causing problems for many couples. One of the brides who received this news was our very own Lisa and we caught up with her to find out if she was OK. This is what she said:
"On 9th September, Mark (Lisa's finance) messaged to tell me that Greenwoods Menswear had gone into Administration. My first reaction was OMG what are we going to do? We had already paid in full for the hire of 5 suits. Then I started to panic about losing the money and having no suits for our wedding.
After I had had time to think I got myself organised and remembered we had taken out Wedding Insurance! I called into the Morecambe branch of Greenwoods and had a chat with Neil and his team, they gave me a contact number to ring. I have since contacted the insurance, downloaded the claim form, filled it in and after a call with a very helpful lady, scanned all the paperwork from Greenwoods and emailed it back. The claim is in progress! Panic over!
Don't even hesitate when it comes to wedding insurance! It was the best £25 we've spent on our wedding".
We strongly recommend wedding insurance to all our brides. Your wedding is such an important day and it's costing a lot of money. Protect it with a small one off payment. Surely it's worth it for the peace of mind Lisa had when something completely unexpected happened?

You need not be worried though. We're here to help!
We put together this little quiz to tell you why becoming a Bridal House bride will be the right move for you.
Online shopping is convenient and often cost saving in a busy world where we're constantly trying to save ourselves time and money. However, while buying groceries online is a win win, buying something as important as your wedding dress is fraught with issues and it's too easy to be fooled.
Online brand protection experts, MarkMonitor, have recently put together a list of top tips to ensure you as a bride-to-be are aware of the dangers when shopping online. After all you can't possibly have too much information at your disposal.
For a long time independent retailers have warned about the 'too good to be true' prices and we have noticed brides are much more savvy about avoiding those deals. In return of course the counterfeiters have also got wiser. Now they realise there Is more chance of fooling a customer is the price looks reasonable. It is essential you know the recommended retail price of a dress you're interested in purchasing, use that as a benchmark. Any significant discounting even 20% should make you think twice.
Counterfeiters are extremely good at creating websites that look genuine, making it difficult for customers to make good judgments. The 'About' and 'FAQ' pages are most likely to give you hints that all is not as it seems. If vital company information is not included you should probably steer clear.
RETURN AND PRIVACY POLICIES
Any legitimate online seller will make these policies very clear. The distance selling laws in the UK make it impossible for online companies to be anything less that transparent. You have every right to return an item bought online if it is faulty or doesn't fit. If these policies are hard to find or don't seem to exist, this should be a serious warning signal.
THE WEBSITE ADDRESS (URL)
We know these counterfeiters are clever and they will often choose website addresses that are similar to the genuine brand. Look out for spelling mistakes, this is a method known as 'cybersquatting'. It's also a good idea to check the site has a https:// prefix. This is an indication the website is secure.
We recently had a customer who had been fooled by a counterfeiting website because the web address ended .co.uk Unfortunately this isn't a reliable source of information. A website domain can be registered anywhere by anyone.
At the end of the day we understand brides-to-be want convenient and money saving shopping opportunities. My question to you would be.... is your wedding dress something you want to take a chance with?
Independent retailers often have money saving opportunities with their sample sales and can help with payment plans to spread the cost.
Most importantly though, buying your dress is a big part of the memories you build about your wedding day, it's an experience to be treasured. Make it special, a luxury experience. Visit us and we'll show you what we mean.
Around this time last year we were talking about popular 1st dances and that led us to find out what the top 10 choices were for 2015.

It was one of our favorite events in the buying calendar last week. My friend Catherine and I headed to the Mere Golf Resort & Spa for the launch of Amanda Wyatt's latest collection Ivy & Pearl. We're always in for such a treat at these events and as we look our seats for the catwalk we knew this would be no exception.
The dresses are stunning, a lovely mix of designs, shapes and fabrics, something for everyone! The Amanda Wyatt quality shines through on every dress.
I've got a few videos that capture what we were seeing.
I asked Catherine for her thoughts on the collection, this is what she said: "Ivy and Pearl is another beautiful collection from Amanda Wyatt. There is a great variety of styles to suit all tastes and figures; simple dresses that could be accessorised creatively, and plenty of detail and bling in other designs. There are also nods to vintage styles with ruching, bead work and lace".
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
