"You will always be my greatest adventure" - Up
I know from experience that picking the team of suppliers that will make your wedding day everything you dream it will be can be a daunting task. Where do you start? Recommendations from family and friends are always a good idea, wedding fairs give you an opportunity to meet a variety of suppliers face to face and see demonstrations of their work. You may have enlisted the help of a wedding planner who will have a database of suppliers at their fingertips. We thought we’d offer our advice based on suppliers we’ve worked with over the years. This is by no means an exhaustive list but these are all businesses that we’ve worked with personally and have first hand experience of their professionalism and high quality work.
Hilary’s cakes and bakes featured in our blog last week. Hilary creates beautiful and tasty cakes, she’s made cupcakes for our events and we’re always very impressed by her hard work, passion and skill.
Heysham Limo’s have a stunning selection of cars to transport you to your wedding in style. We’ve worked with them so many times, our models even had a trip in one of the vehicles to a wedding fair, I know they had a great time.
The girls at Razzle Dazzle would be our recommendation for venue decorating. I’ve lost count of the number of times they’ve helped me out. Balloons for my children’s birthdays, chair covers and sashes for a tea party and so much more. Their shop is always full of ideas and inspiration.
Abi is our florist of choice for all our events and displays. She’s done too much work for us to mention but the list includes, in store displays, corsages for our prom event, displays for our windows, bouquets for our models cat-walking at the local fairs and much more. She never lets us down. He enthusiasm and skill shine through time and time again.
If you’re looking for something a little bit different to keep your guests entertained, what about some magic? Sam Fitton is the perfect choice, he’ll have your guests in complete wonderment. He was a surprise gift for our wedding and we loved having him with us, I could watch him perform all day.
No wedding part would be complete without music. There’s so much choice though, ceremony music, background music for the reception, a solo singer to get the evening do started, a band, a DJ, what will you pick? We’ve worked with a wonderful range of artists from James Bell – Saxophonist, Mark McKenna, and O&W Entertainments. Have fun making your musical choices, maybe you could pick a few options throughout the day?
There are so many wedding photographers out there and finding the perfect one for one is really about finding someone you can ‘click’ with and makes you feel comfortable. An engagement shoot is a great idea for getting to know each other before the big day arrives. Our recommendation would be Jono Symonds because we’ve worked with Jono a number of times on shoots for the shop and he’s a really down to earth guy who clearly loves what he does and it shows in the style and quality of his work.
There’s really 2 choices here and it’s down to your style and preference. Will your wedding stationery be the traditional handcrafted type, with beautiful satin ribbons and stunning embellishments because Claire Louise wedding stationery would be our choice here. She’s done work for us in the past and the quality and craftsmanship shines through.
If you want something more modern and unusual Qwerky Graphics are amazing. They do all of the graphic design for the Bridal House and we love that they expanded into wedding stationery as well.
While obviously the Bridal House can be the only choice for your bridal gown, maids dresses and accessories, we understand you’ll probably want to hire the groomsmen’s suits. Look no further than Greenwoods Morecambe. Neil and his team have a vast knowledge of menswear and will help however they can.
We’re going to leave this one for a blog another day!!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
